A practical guide

Customize dot shapes, corner frames, corner centers, foreground colors and background colors in one shared editor. The six dot styles range from simple squares to rounded and connected shapes. Corner controls are independent, so you can make the three finder patterns visually distinct without changing the payload. Linear and radial gradients support two to four stops. Background transparency is available for designs that will be placed on a known light surface.

Decoration should follow readability, not replace it. Keep a dark QR against a light background, with the quiet border intact on every side. The tool applies a contrast guard to the selected color stops and checks the actual output through a local decoder. A successful check is not a promise for every camera, print material or distance. Small dots, glare and busy backgrounds can still make scanning difficult. Keep a safe design as a baseline and compare your intended styled version at its actual printed size. Restore safe styling only with the explicit reset control; the generator does not quietly change your chosen colors to hide a failure.

Your inputs, styling and logo are processed in this browser. Generating a code does not upload them or contact the encoded destination. There is no account, saved history, QR tracking service or subscription. Loading this website still requests its static files from the host; opening a link after scanning is a separate action that can contact another service. Clearing the workspace removes its current content and image references, but does not promise a forensic wipe of browser memory or files you already downloaded.

Choose among PNG, SVG, JPEG and WebP in the export panel. JPEG cannot carry a transparent background and uses white instead. Use a clear, non-sensitive filename and keep the downloaded image somewhere appropriate for its content. The export button generates the latest revision directly; a separate preview click is not required. A local decode check compares the downloaded design with the encoded bytes. If it fails, the tool stops rather than silently shortening the content or lowering error correction.

Before distributing or printing, scan the actual exported file with a phone your audience uses. Verify both its content and the intended action. Scanning conventions and application behavior can differ, and a successful software decode is not a universal camera guarantee. Retain enough surrounding space, use a light background and keep a copy of the source details so you can regenerate a static code when those details change.

Frequently asked questions

Does QR Studio upload my content?

No. Encoding, logo cleanup and output checking take place in your browser. Static website files are requested from the host, but your entered content is not sent.

Can I change a QR after printing it?

No. These are static codes with their content encoded directly. Regenerate the image when the content changes. A page you own can change while its URL stays the same.

What file formats are available?

PNG, SVG, JPEG and WebP. JPEG uses a white backdrop instead of transparency. Format availability depends on the browser, and failed exports are not renamed as another format.

Does the decode check guarantee every phone will scan it?

No. It checks the actual file against the encoded content. Real phone cameras, scanner apps, print sizes and backgrounds still need testing.
